Anne Dorothy Harley is Professor of Music at Scripps College, where she also serves as Director of the Clark Humanities Museum and Adviser in the Environmental Analysis Non-Science Track. She joined the faculty in 2009 and has held positions including Associate Professor and Department Chair. Her academic credentials include a Doctor of Musical Arts from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts from Yale College.
Her research focuses on interdisciplinary and intercultural performance projects, particularly through her founding of the Voices of the Pearl initiative in 2011. This project commissions, performs, and tours contemporary classical music settings of texts by female mystical practitioners from global traditions. Harley's scholarship examines embodied performance pedagogy across cultural and disciplinary boundaries.
