معرفی
Anne Grethe Kjelling is a doctoral fellow in professional teacher education (PROFF) at the University of Inland Norway, affiliated with the Department of Social Sciences, Religion and Ethics within the Faculty of Teacher Education and Pedagogy. She conducts research on the intersection of religious education, public schooling, and identity formation among Muslim youth in Norway.
Her educational background includes a general teacher education from Sør-Trøndelag University College (2007) and a master's degree in religious studies from NTNU (2009).
Dr. Kjelling's research focuses on identity issues, diversity in schools, and the experiences of religious students in secular classrooms. Her work examines how Muslim youth navigate between formal public school education and non-formal religious education in mosques, particularly exploring how these different educational contexts influence identity formation and religious understanding.
Her recent publications analyze young Muslims' experiences moving between mosque and public school settings, with a particular focus on how these youth perceive and engage with the public school's KRLE (Christianity, Religion, and Ethics) curriculum regarding Islam.
Dr. Kjelling is actively involved in the NFR-funded FAITHED project, which explores non-formal religious education, public schools and religious minorities in Norway, and is affiliated with the Diversity in Education (DivE) research group.
With 13 years of experience as a teacher in adult education, primarily teaching Norwegian to newly arrived immigrants, Dr. Kjelling brings valuable practical experience to her academic research on multicultural and multireligious education.
