Anne E. C. McCants is a Professor of History at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she also serves as the MacVicar Faculty Fellow and Director of the Concourse Program—a multidisciplinary initiative integrating humanistic study with science education. She holds a leadership role as President of the International Economic History Association and co-edits Social Science History and The Journal of Interdisciplinary History.

Her current research spans medieval building technology, gender norms in economic development, and comparative analysis of the Dutch Republic’s consumer revolution with Cape Colony sources.
