معرفی
Anne Coldiron is a Professor whose work bridges Renaissance literary culture, translation studies, and the history of printing. Her seminal book Printers without Borders: Translation and Textuality in the Renaissance (2015) examines how early modern textual technologies—printing and translation—transformed English literary traditions, drawing parallels to contemporary media revolutions. Coldiron’s interdisciplinary approach combines literary analysis, philology, bibliography, and cultural history to reveal the polyglot, transnational foundations of European Renaissance literature.
Her research highlights translation as an agent of cultural, social, and literary change, using case studies like William Caxton’s Recuyell of the Hystoryes of Troye and multilingual broadsides celebrating the Armada. Coldiron critiques monolingual academic silos, advocating for a reevaluation of canon formation through cross-cultural lenses. She has led initiatives such as the Folger Shakespeare Library colloquium and is actively contributing to scholarship on early modern translation.
