Anne-Claire Husser is a Lecturer in Philosophy of Education at the Higher School of Teaching and Education of Lyon, affiliated with the Education, Cultures, Policies (ECP) laboratory. She co-leads Axis 2 of the ECP laboratory with Marion Fabre. Her research focuses on republican educational thought, moral and citizenship education, secularism in schools, and the teaching of religious facts, with a current emphasis on Steiner-Waldorf pedagogy. She has published extensively on historical and contemporary educational ideas, including works on Ferdinand Buisson, Durkheim, and modern pedagogical practices.
Her research explores institutional dynamics, professional identities, and the interplay between political/pedagogical imaginaries. Recent work analyzes tensions between religious facts education and moral instruction, as well as the practical implications of secularism in school policies. She actively participates in academic conferences addressing topics like diversity in educational institutions and the role of metaphysical beliefs in pedagogy.
Husser's publications span edited volumes, journal articles, and dictionary contributions, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach to philosophy of education. She has coordinated special issues on ethics in schools and contributed to debates about teacher training regarding laïcité and religious accommodation practices.
