Anne-Charlott Fitzky

Anne-Charlott Fitzky is a researcher at the Institute of Botany, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). She focuses on plant responses to environmental stressors, particularly biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) in urban trees under drought and salinity stress.

• Education: PhD in Forest Ecology (BOKU, 2022); MSc in Geobotany (University of Freiburg, 2017); BSc in Immunobiology (University of Freiburg, 2013).

Research Interests: Her work explores how urban trees adapt to climate stressors through BVOC emissions, ozone interactions, and physiological changes. Key projects include Photosynthesepotential der Baumrinde (2023–2027) and Stadtbäume und Luftverschmutzung (2018–2023), the latter examining BVOC emissions and ozone absorption in Vienna.

Publications: Her 10 recent articles span BVOC profiling, stress-induced volatile emissions, and ozone-vegetation dynamics, with a focus on urban forestry and atmospheric chemistry.

Community Involvement: Active as a reviewer for journals like Environmental Science & Technology and a member of the organizing committee for the 2025 Austrian Society of Plant Biology Conference.
