Anne Cathrin Ziegler is a Researcher and doctoral candidate at the Otto Suhr Institute, Department of Sociology, Free University of Berlin. She is affiliated with the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1671 'Home(s): Phenomena, Practices, Representations' at the Heidelberg Center for Ibero-American Studies (HCIAS), where she leads subproject B07 on 'Kitchen and garden. Homemaking practices of Latin American activists.' Her work bridges sociological research with interdisciplinary Latin American studies.
Education:

Research Focus: Her dissertation examines Afro-indigenous cosmovisions, identity negotiation, and land rights activism among Brazilian Quilombo communities. This project analyzes connections between cultural worldviews, identity formation, and socio-political struggles. Subproject B07 investigates how domestic practices reflect socio-cultural agency in Latin American activist contexts.
