Elena Marina Müller is a Researcher and PhD candidate at the University of Heidelberg’s Heidelberg Center for Ibero-American Studies (HCIAS), affiliated with the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1671 sub-project B05. Her work focuses on socio-ecological conflicts over land and resources in Mexico, supervised by Jun.-Prof. Rosa Lehmann.
Education: Bachelor’s in Romance Languages and Cultural Studies (Humboldt University Berlin), Master’s in Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies (Freie Universität Berlin), and postgraduate studies in International Cooperation for Sustainable Development (Humboldt University’s SLE).
Research emphasizes ecological/social redistribution processes, with projects on ecotourism impacts in Colombia’s Tayrona National Park, Mexico’s Tren Maya region, and Mozambique’s cashew value chain sustainability. Recent presentation at CEISAL 2025 (Paris, 2025) addressed post-conflict indigenous rights and ecotourism justice.
