Anne Bujold serves as Assistant Professor of Sculpture in the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, having previously held the Artist-In-Residence position for the Metals Department at the Appalachian Center for Craft in Smithville, TN (2018-2020).
Her academic credentials include:
- BS in Social Science from Portland State University (2001)
- BFA from Oregon College of Art and Craft (2008)
- MFA in Craft and Material Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University (2018)
Bujold's research investigates intersections of sculpture, ecology, and social justice through hybrid metalworking techniques combined with unconventional materials like felt, ribbon, and plastics. Her practice employs animals as conceptual agents to explore liminal spaces between established definitions, generating novel forms that challenge the social construction of nature. This increasingly collaborative work manifests in object-based installations and site-specific projects.
She maintains active professional engagement through Riveted Rabbit Studio, her former custom metal fabrication business in Portland, Oregon, and as a committed member of the Society of Inclusive Blacksmiths—an organization dedicated to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion within the blacksmithing community through workshops, seminars, and advocacy initiatives.
