Anne Abbott, PhD, MPP, is an Assistant Professor at Boise State University's School of Public and Population Health. She holds a doctorate in Community and Behavioral Health with a Health Communication focus from the University of Iowa (2023). Prior roles include adjunct faculty at Boise State (2019–2022) and Program Director for Public Health Evaluation at the University of Iowa School of Social Work. She also worked in policy and advocacy for child/youth-serving organizations in Washington D.C.

Research Focus: Dr. Abbott investigates health communication strategies to improve youth/young adult health outcomes, particularly mass communication interventions for violence and self-harm prevention. Her work spans diverse public health topics, integrating academic and professional experiences in policy, advocacy, and program evaluation.
Teaching: Courses include public health communication, health promotion, program planning/evaluation, and policy analysis.
