Annabel Clancy is a Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Wollongong’s School of Medical, Indigenous and Health Sciences. She holds a PhD from the same institution (2018) and a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Hons). As an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, her expertise spans adverse food reactions, including food allergies, intolerances, and eosinophilic oesophagitis (EOE), alongside gastroenterology and public health nutrition.
Her research focuses on optimizing nutritional care for individuals with adverse food reactions and those experiencing socio-economic disadvantage. Key projects include developing the Australian National Meal Guidelines for older adults and exploring dietary management strategies for conditions like EOE and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). She actively contributes to Dietitians Australia’s Adverse Food Reactions Interest Group and volunteers with Mission Australia’s Surry Hills Centre.
Annabel’s publications emphasize microbiome research, particularly fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), and its impact on gastrointestinal and mental health outcomes. Her work bridges clinical practice and policy, addressing health inequities through community-based interventions.
