Anna Y. Len, Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Education in the Department of Physical Therapy at Hofstra University, brings more than 30 years of experience in special-needs care and over 20 years of specialized pediatric physical therapy practice. Holding an EdD (2024) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a DPT from New York University (2003), and a BS from St. Francis College (2000), she integrates deep clinical expertise with advanced scholarship in education policy and leadership.

Research & Scholarly Focus
Dr. Len investigates the application of cutting-edge technology in physical therapy pedagogy, fosters robust clinical-academic partnerships, and advances evidence-based practice within the Ayres Sensory Integration Framework. Her work spans pediatric and adult populations, with particular emphasis on sensory processing dysfunction, autism, and pelvic floor disorders.
Professional Service & Leadership
She actively contributes to the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as a member of the Executive Committee of the APTA New York Board of Directors and Director for the Brooklyn–Staten Island district. She co-chairs the APTA New York Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee and supports the APTA Pediatric Mentorship Program. Additionally, Dr. Len serves as Clinical Director for the New York Special Olympics Healthy Athletes Program, championing improved healthcare access for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Teaching & Mentorship
Dr. Len’s pedagogical philosophy centers on interactive, inclusive learning and interprofessional collaboration. She has taught graduate courses including DPT 519 Integumentary/Other Systems & Women’s Health, DPT 541 Clinical Integration I, OTH 206 Neuroscience Principles & OT Assessment, and OTH 210 Technology Assessment, as well as the undergraduate course HPR 179W Current Trends in Physical Therapy. Her mentorship extends across students, clinicians, and community practitioners, cultivating future leaders in physical therapy.
