Dr Anna Wong Shee is an Affiliate Associate Professor in the School of Medicine, Faculty of Health at Deakin University, with a co-funded appointment between Deakin Rural Health and Grampians Health. She is based at the Ballarat Clinical School and serves as Director of Research Development, leading initiatives to enhance research capacity and knowledge translation across regional health services.
Her research interests include public health, rural health, health services and systems, clinical sciences, nursing, health economics, and knowledge translation. Her work emphasizes equity, accessibility, and systems thinking in rural healthcare delivery.
The recent publications of Dr Wong Shee reflect a strong focus on rural health challenges, including telehealth implementation, research translation, emergency department utilization, and health workforce resilience. Her work often employs qualitative and mixed methods to understand system-level barriers and co-design scalable solutions. Themes include rural health access, de-implementation of low-value care, and community-informed priority setting.

Dr Wong Shee supervises several doctoral students on topics such as population approaches to prevent avoidable emergency visits, systems thinking in health services, health geography tools, and dysphagia management. Her collaborative network includes Grampians Health, Western Alliance, and various government and community health organizations.
