Anna Wienhard

Anna Wienhard is a Director at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences (Leipzig, since 2022). She holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Bonn (2004) and dual Diplomas in Mathematics and Theology. Her research focuses on geometry, topology, and dynamic systems, with emphasis on Higher Teichmüller theory and applications of geometric methods to interdisciplinary fields. She has held leadership roles, including Director of the Research Station Geometry and Dynamics at Heidelberg University (2020–2022) and Chair of Differential Geometry at Heidelberg (2012–2022).
