Anna Werecka-Gryć

Dr. hab. Anna Werecka-Gryć is a mezzo-soprano affiliated with the Academy of Music in Łódź, where she holds a habilitated doctor title. She graduated from the same institution and earned her Doctor of Arts degree in 2018 with a dissertation on rhetoric in selected operatic parts by G.F. Handel.

• Specializes in Baroque and Classical opera performance, with notable roles including Amastris in Handel's Serse, Cherubino in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, Angelina in Rossini's La Cenerentola, and Rosina in Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
• Collaborates internationally with conductors like Sigiswald Kuijken, Paul McCreesh, and Zbyněk Müller, and institutions such as the Warsaw Chamber Opera, Teatro Goldoni in Livorno, and Opera de Vichy.

Research focus includes vocal rhetoric, opera interpretation, and historical performance practices. Her work aligns with Baroque music, musicology, and music festivals.

Scientific achievements:

• 2012: Best Mezzo-soprano award at the Concorso Internazionale di Canto Lirico 'Franca Mattiucci'.
