Anna Valtonen is the Vice-Chancellor of Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design since August 1, 2023. She has held significant academic leadership roles, including Vice President at Aalto University (Art & Creative Practices) and Dean of Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture. Her academic career includes professorship in Strategic Design at Umeå Institute of Design and visiting positions at ESSEC Business School.

Her research focuses on the organizational evolution of design, its future trajectories, and the intersection of art/design with societal transformation. She combines academic expertise with extensive industry experience in design, management, and innovation from her tenure at Nokia (1997–2009). Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to systemic change and sustainability.
As Vice-Chancellor, she oversees institutional strategy and governance at Konstfack, Sweden’s leading university college in arts, crafts, and design. She has served on numerous corporate and academic boards, contributing to EU-level policy and innovation frameworks.
