Anna Tyllström is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences, at Uppsala University. Her research focuses on organizational theory, institutional theory, and the social construction of markets, particularly examining how organizations build legitimacy in controversial or emerging markets.

Dr. Tyllström's research explores various aspects of market formation and legitimation, including:
- Corporate influence on politics through lobbying and consulting
- How markets for PR consultancy and other contested services become socially constructed
- Social network formation in high-ranking business schools
- Dissemination of expertise in social media
- Construction of symbolic values in consumer markets (e.g., denim fashion and other consumer goods)
Her research has been funded by several prestigious institutions including the Swedish Research Council, the Riksbanken Jubileumsfond, the Handelsbanken research foundations, and the Crafoord Foundation. She has also been recognized with the Arnberg Prize for best thesis in economic sciences from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Tyllström teaches courses in organizational analysis, qualitative methods, academic writing, and social science perspectives on consultancy. She has previously been a visiting researcher at the University of Alberta, Canada; Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA; and Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. She is also affiliated with the Institute for Futures Studies in Stockholm.
