Anna Sweeting

Anna Sweeting serves as a Research Fellow at the Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia, with cross-appointments in the School of Health Sciences. She is an active member of multiple research groups including Metabolic Health, Public Health, and Nutrition and Preventive Medicine, based at the Bob Champion Research & Education Building.

Her research focuses on critical public health issues across several key areas: menopause and obesity intersections, community-led health behavior change in disadvantaged areas, nutritional interventions for brain health, and the social determinants of health including food and fuel poverty. Sweeting employs primarily qualitative methodologies, with expertise in photovoice, I-poems, and community-based participatory research approaches.

Her current research portfolio demonstrates significant grant capture, with five active projects funded by major bodies including the National Institute for Health and Care Research, NHS Norfolk & Waveney Integrated Care Board, and Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. These projects span menopause experiences, obesity interventions, community health behavior change, and nutritional neuroscience.
