Dr. Anna S. Duggar serves as the full-time Director of the Forensic Chemistry Program in the Department of Chemistry at Loyola University New Orleans' College of Arts and Sciences. A forensic chemist with extensive field experience, she joined Loyola as adjunct faculty in 2004 before assuming her current leadership role in 2010.
Her research bridges analytical chemistry and criminalistics, with specific expertise in:
- Photon/electron microscopy of particulate evidence
- Reliability enhancement of hemoglobin detection tests
- Bloodstain pattern dynamics and interpretation
- Forensic applications to crime scene reconstruction
She holds professional distinction as a Diplomate of the American Board of Criminalistics and maintains active membership in major forensic associations. Her career integrates academic leadership with practical forensic casework, having directed the New Orleans Police Crime Lab and conducted analyses for medical examiner offices and law enforcement agencies across multiple states.
