Anna Prabucka-Firlej

Prof. Dr. hab. Anna Prabucka-Firlej is a distinguished Professor of Musical Arts at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where she has served as Head of the Department of Chamber Music from 2003 to 2020. A graduate of the same institution (1974), she specialized in piano under Prof. Krystyna Jastrzębska and earned her professorship in 1994. Her artistic career spans over 60 years with performances across 30 countries, including solo and chamber music engagements with renowned artists like Siegfried Palm and John Corigliano. She is a co-founder of the Gdańsk Trio and has recorded eight CDs, including acclaimed works like 'American Sonatas' and 'Polish Romantic Trios.'

Prof. Prabucka-Firlej has organized major events like the International J. Brahms Chamber Music Competition and led masterclasses in 15+ countries. She has supervised 10 doctoral dissertations and reviewed numerous academic works. Her pedagogical impact is evident through her students' 230+ competition awards in events like the Paris and Stockholm chamber music competitions.

Her scholarly contributions include editing 38 scores of Polish chamber music and publications in prestigious journals. Recognized for her service, she has received over a dozen awards from national and municipal authorities, including Poland's Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
