Anna Polačková

Anna Polačková is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Political Science, Faculty of Arts, University of Presov. She holds a PhD in Translation and Interpreting (2019) with a focus on legal language practices. Her academic journey includes studies at the University of Presov and international fellowships in Austria and Germany. She specializes in legal interpreting, legal terminology, and translation of texts in law, technology, and poetry. Key research interests include the use of block language in court interpreting and the application of corpus linguistics in translation.

Publications include monographs on German legal language in interpreting practice and contributions to peer-reviewed journals such as Jazyk a kultúra. She has participated in international conferences like Quo vadis, Legal Translation (2017) and PRAGESTT (2018). Current projects involve KEGA-funded research on contrastive lexicography. She is currently on maternity leave.
