Anna Piacibello

Anna Piacibello is a Fixed-term Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications (DET) at Politecnico di Torino, where she actively contributes to research and teaching in microwave and RF electronics. She is affiliated with the Microwave and Optoelectronics Group (MOG) and serves as an invited member of the academic colleges for Electronic, Telecommunications, and Physics Engineering as well as Computer, Film, and Mechatronics Engineering.

Her research focuses on high-efficiency power amplifiers, particularly Doherty architectures, GaN-based integrated circuits, and linearity-aware design. She investigates load variation tolerance, multi-stage amplifier configurations, and millimeter-wave design challenges, with applications in 5G and satellite communications. Her work emphasizes experimental characterization and practical implementation of advanced RF systems.

The recent publications of Anna Piacibello demonstrate a strong trend in high-efficiency RF power amplification, with a focus on Doherty PAs, inverse Class-F operation, bandwidth extension, and GaN MMICs. Her research spans both journal and conference venues, including IEEE Transactions, Scientific Reports, and top-tier microwave conferences such as IMS and EuMIC, highlighting her contributions to both theoretical and applied microwave engineering.

She supervises two PhD students: Giulia Bartolotti and Zhifan Zhang. Their research topics include design methodologies for efficient, linear, and load-insensitive power amplifiers, and high-efficiency amplifiers for deep back-off in broadband operation. She has been consistently involved in teaching, serving as a course collaborator in Analog and Telecommunication Electronics and Microwave Electronics for the Electronic Engineering program, as well as in Digital Technologies and Intelligent Infrastructures for other engineering disciplines.
