Anna Pawlikowska

Dr. Anna Pawlikowska serves as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Sciences within the Faculty of Motor Rehabilitation at the Academy of Physical Education in Krakow (AWF Krakow), where she has been affiliated since 2004. Her academic journey began with a master's degree in sociology from Jagiellonian University in 1997, followed by a doctorate in physical culture sciences from AWF Krakow in 2013.

Dr. Pawlikowska's scholarly work demonstrates consistent focus on the sociological dimensions of sport and physical culture. Her research examines how sport functions within societal structures, the evolution of sport values, and the representation of sports in Polish cinema across different historical periods. She has published extensively on topics including the instrumentalization of sport in Poland during the post-WWII period, the axiological aspects of sport in film, and the relationship between sport and social structure. Her methodological approach combines qualitative and quantitative research methods with particular expertise in analyzing socio-historical contexts and cultural representations.

As an educator, Dr. Pawlikowska coordinates and teaches multiple core subjects including sociology, sociology of the body, social communication, art of dialogue, and culture of being and language. She has supervised dozens of master's and diploma theses, providing guidance to the next generation of scholars and practitioners. Her educational leadership is evident through her role as coordinator of the "Masters of Teaching" Project (2018-2021) and her completion of the "Masters of Didactics" Project in 2019/2020, which focused on modern teaching methodologies with emphasis on the tutorial approach in collaboration with trainers from the University of Groningen. She currently serves as a member of the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Regional Development.
