Anna Pavlova

Anna Pavlova is a Professor of Finance at London Business School (LBS). She serves as an Editor of the Review of Financial Studies and Programme Director of the Asset Pricing Programme at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). She holds leadership roles in the European Economic Association and the SFI Scientific Council. Previously, she was a Director of the American Finance Association and European Finance Association, and taught at MIT Sloan School of Management. Her PhD in Economics is from the University of Pennsylvania, with earlier degrees from Moscow State University and New Economic School.

Her research focuses on institutional investors' impact on asset prices, ESG investing, retail trading in options, commodity financialization, and global financial market frictions. Her work appears in top journals like the American Economic Review and has been cited by major media outlets. She has received an ERC Starting Grant and other prestigious awards for research and teaching.

Anna’s articles address contemporary challenges such as business’s role in solving environmental and social issues, crypto market navigation, and ESG investment strategies. She explores biases in investor behavior and redefines corporate finance frameworks under evolving market dynamics.
