Anna Ohanyan is the Richard B. Finnegan Distinguished Professor of Political Science and International Relations at Stonehill College and a Nonresident Senior Scholar in the Russia and Eurasia Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. A two-time Fulbright Scholar, she has authored five books and numerous articles on global conflict dynamics.

Her research examines Russian and Eurasian geopolitics, armed conflicts, regional fracture, and the agency of small states in post-Soviet spaces. Current work analyzes how the Ukraine war reshapes Eurasian power dynamics, blending network theory, comparative regionalism, and historical methods.
Publications span top journals like Nationalities Papers and International Studies Review, with recurring themes of conflict intractability, imperial legacies, and regional order-building. Her 2022 article on Ottoman fracture patterns exemplifies this focus.
