Anna Mountford-Zimdars

Anna Mountford-Zimdars is Professor of Social Justice at the University of Exeter's School of Education. She co-founded the Centre for Social Mobility and actively collaborates on research related to equality in education, social mobility, and policy analysis. Her roles include serving as a Trustee of the Society for Research into Higher Education and joint editor of Research Papers in Education.

Her research focuses on enhancing educational equality, addressing systemic barriers in higher education access, and analyzing policies to support marginalized groups. She has explored topics such as regional inequalities in educational transitions and international educational mobility initiatives.

Anna has secured funding from organizations including the Office for Students (OfS), European Union (EU), Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Nuffield Foundation, British Academy, and Social Mobility Commission. Her work spans interdisciplinary fields like sociology, education policy, curriculum development, legal systems, and gender studies.

Anna supervises MA and PhD students in Education and Sociology, emphasizing both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
