Anna Maria Maddux

Anna Maria Maddux is a Researcher and PhD candidate in the Sycamore Lab at EPFL's Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IGM), part of the School of Engineering (STI). Her research focuses on game theory, multi-agent systems, and learning algorithms with applications in energy markets, robotics, and shared mobility systems.

Education: PhD candidate at EPFL (2021–present), MSc in Statistics from ETH Zurich (2021), BSc in Mathematics and Economics from University of Freiburg (2018–2019). Past internships at Daimler Benz and the German Federal Parliament.

Key achievements include presenting work at AISTATS 2024 and ICML workshops, co-organizing the NCCR Automation Junior Retreat, and visiting MIT in 2025. She was a fellow of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation and Accenture's Female Talent Program.
