Dr. Anna-Maria Brandstetter is a Researcher and Curator of the Ethnographic Collection at the Department of Ethnology and African Studies, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. She also serves as Studienmanagerin (Academic Coordinator) in the Ethnology and African Studies study office. Her research focuses on political anthropology, memory studies, and public history, with regional specialization in post-genocide Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and broader Central Africa. She investigates collective memory, personal narratives, and the intersection of politics and culture in conflict-affected societies.
