Anna Llewellyn-Smith is an English Language Tutor at Harper Adams University, specializing in supporting international undergraduate and postgraduate students through classroom teaching and one-to-one tutorials. With 25 years of experience in language education, teacher training, and further/higher education across the UK and internationally, her work bridges language acquisition challenges and disciplinary learning. She holds qualifications including MSc, BSc (Hons), PgC TSLHE, DELTA, DipDI (Harvard), and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Her research interests focus on accessibility in education, particularly dyslexia's impact on language learners, cultural inclusion strategies, and overcoming barriers to understanding scientific concepts. Recent action research explored Chinese students' challenges in in-person lectures and strategies for subject lecturers to mitigate these issues. Prior to her academic career, she worked in natural resource management and wildlife conservation across Africa and the Middle East, including roles with UNEP, government ministries, NGOs, and consultancy, informed by doctoral training on lion/livestock conflict in Kenya.
