Anna Liljedal

Anna Liljedal is a Lecturer at the Academy of Art and Design (HDK-Valand), University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and an active member of the Northern Drawing School (NDS), an international collaborative network focused on advancing drawing as a critical practice in contemporary art education.

Her research and teaching center on art and design disciplines with specialized emphasis on drawing methodologies, exploring experimental approaches within Nordic and international contexts through the NDS framework. This initiative facilitates cross-institutional projects examining drawing's evolving role in visual culture and pedagogy.

On April 2, 2025, she engaged in an internationally recognized academic visit hosted by Marja Nurminen at an institution featuring a School of Arts, Design and Architecture with a Department of Art and Media, participating in collaborative activities as part of the Northern Drawing School's mission.

As a core contributor to the Northern Drawing School, she participates in organizing international workshops, exhibitions, and research initiatives that position drawing at the intersection of artistic practice, critical theory, and educational innovation.
