Anna Kontriner

Anna Kontriner is a doctoral researcher at the Chair of Old Testament and Biblical-Oriental Languages within the Catholic Theological Faculty at the University of Würzburg. She works on the DFG-funded project Self-Organization and Horizontal Binding Forces: Local Authorities in Ancient Judaism from the 6th Century BC to the 1st Century AD.

• Education: MA in Philosophy and Theology from the University of Vienna

Her research focuses on narratological analyses of deuterocanonical and extra-canonical narratives, exploring representations of local self-organization and societal structures in ancient Jewish texts. She examines how cultural narratives, self-perceptions, and external perspectives are embedded in fictional texts without prioritizing historical reconstruction.
