Anna-Katharina Sieberer is a PhD researcher at the Department of Geology, University of Innsbruck, Austria. Her current position (since 2020) focuses on tectonic processes and analogue modelling, particularly the thermo-tectonic evolution of the Dolomites Indenter. She previously worked as a Geologist at ILF Consulting Engineers GmbH (2017–2022). She holds a Master of Earth Sciences (2015–2020) and Bachelor of Earth Sciences (2011–2014) from the University of Innsbruck, with additional studies at the University of Alberta (2015–2016).
Her research interests include regional geology, structural geology, tectonics, geodynamics, and analogue modelling. She collaborates with the Tectonic Modelling Laboratory (TecLab) at Utrecht University. Key projects involve investigating deformation processes in continental indenter systems and Cretaceous transform fault zones in the Alps. Her work combines field observations, thermochronology, and physical analogues.
Teaching roles include leading undergraduate field courses (e.g., Geländekurs 1/2) and supervising structural geology exercises. Her publications (e.g., in Geology and Journal of Petrology) reflect expertise in tectonic evolution, basin inversion, and lithospheric metasomatism.
