Anna-Karin Norlin is a physician in General Practice and affiliated researcher at Linköping University's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. She works within the Department of Health, Medicine and Caring Sciences and collaborates with the Division of Prevention, Rehabilitation and Community Medicine (PRNV) at Region Östergötland.
Her research focuses on fatigue as a complex clinical phenomenon, examining its biological mechanisms and impact on quality of life in conditions like irritable bowel syndrome and post-stroke recovery. She employs interdisciplinary approaches combining clinical research, neuroimaging, and immunological analysis.
Recent publications demonstrate her work on: 1) symptom patterns in IBS patients, 2) post-stroke fatigue effects, 3) chronic fatigue syndrome rehabilitation, and 4) neuroinflammatory markers in fatigue pathogenesis.
Collaborating with experts like Senior Associate Professor Åshild Olsen Faresjö and Adjunct Professor Susanna Walter, she contributes to the Twincities Research Group studying social environment effects on health outcomes.
