Anna Jonsson Cornell is Professor of Comparative Constitutional Law at Uppsala University's Department of Law. She is also an Associate Professor of Constitutional Law and founder of the Human Rights Clinic at the university. As Secretary General of the IACL-IADC since 2020, she contributes to global constitutional law dialogues. Her research focuses on constitutional law, democracy, rule of law, and transnational crime, with particular expertise in Russian constitutional law and EU legal integration.
Her academic work explores constitutional interpretation, legal socialization, and crisis governance, analyzing how international organizations and domestic institutions interact. Recent publications examine emergencies in constitutional law, privacy rights, and police cooperation, reflecting her commitment to understanding authoritarianism, human trafficking, and judicial activism through comparative frameworks.
