Anna Hutcheson

Anna Hutcheson is an Assistant Professor of Political Science in the Department of Social Sciences at Shawnee State University's College of Arts and Sciences. She teaches courses in International Relations, Comparative Politics, and related fields, including Global Politics, International Organizations and Law, and proposed courses on Human Rights and Political Violence.

Research Focus: Dr. Hutcheson's work examines political violence, international conflict & cooperation, and transnational social movements. Her dissertation analyzed the International Criminal Court's trials of Jean-Pierre Bemba and Bosco Ntaganda, focusing on wartime rape convictions. She explores intersections of human rights law, accountability mechanisms, and conflict resolution.

Key Publications: Her research appears in German Politics, Peace Studies Journal, and Indiana University South Bend Undergraduate Research Journal of History. Recent presentations address human rights in Israel/Palestine, EU financial governance, and civic engagement pedagogy.
