Anna Färnert is a Professor of Infectious Medicine and Senior Consultant in Infectious Diseases at Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital. She leads the Division of Infectious Diseases and is Deputy Head of the Department of Medicine, Solna. Her research focuses on global infections such as malaria, tuberculosis, and tropical diseases, emphasizing diagnostics, treatment, and prevention. She holds a Medical Degree (1994) and a PhD in Medicine (2000) from Karolinska Institutet.

**Research Interests:**

Her group studies molecular epidemiology, host-pathogen interactions, and the long-term health impacts of infections like malaria and tuberculosis.
