Anna Du is an Associate Professor in Finance at the Business School, Edinburgh Napier University, where she also serves as Research Lead and PhD Coordinator for the Accounting and Finance Subject Group, providing leadership to academic staff. She holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Nottingham and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Her research focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, FinTech, corporate finance, sustainable finance, and energy economics. She has secured over £184,890 in external funding, primarily from the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC), supporting impactful research in social sciences and policy. Her recent publications explore climate risk, AI in banking, digital finance, and sustainability, reflecting a strong interdisciplinary approach bridging finance, technology, and environmental economics. She frequently publishes in high-impact journals such as Energy Economics, British Journal of Management, and International Review of Financial Analysis.
Anna Du has been honored with multiple teaching awards:

She actively supervises PhD students at Edinburgh Napier University and externally in China and the UK, having successfully guided five to completion. She serves as an internal and external examiner across institutions in the UK, Australia, and China. Her editorial leadership includes roles as Associate Editor for International Journal of Finance and Economics and European Journal of Finance, Area Editor for Research in International Business and Finance, and Executive Guest Editor for Energy Economics and Resources Policy. She has participated in twelve international conferences as a chair or committee member. Additionally, she is a distinguished visiting professor at Zhejiang University of Technology and Anhui University of Finance and Economics in China, and an external examiner at the University of Surrey, UK.
