Anna Dalla Marta is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural, Food, Environmental and Forestry Sciences and Technologies (DAGRI) at the University of Florence. Her research focuses on sustainable agricultural production, soil management, agrometeorology, and climate change impacts. She leads national/international projects (PRIMA, H2020) and serves as Field Editor of the Italian Journal of Agrometeorology and Associate Editor for Irrigation & Drainage. Since 2024, she is the Delegate for International Relations at Florence’s School of Agriculture.
- Education: PhD in Soil Science and Climatology (University of Florence, 2004); Laurea Magistrale in Tropical Agriculture (2000, cum laude).
Research interests include precision agriculture, crop modeling, and mitigation of climate change effects. Recent projects include MARA-Mediterra (2022-2025) on nature-based solutions for Mediterranean agro-ecosystems and REWATERING (2022-2025) on crop water requirements under global warming.
Publications emphasize agrometeorological modeling, irrigation strategies, and biochar applications. Over 100 peer-reviewed articles highlight her work on crop responses to climate variables, water management, and sustainable practices.
Grants/awards include leadership roles in EU-funded initiatives like NOMAD (H2020) and OPERA (WATER-JPI). She coordinates long-term experiments like MOLTE (organic farming impacts) and leads teams in climate resilience studies for quinoa in West Africa.
