Anna Czarniecka is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern History at the Faculty of History, University of Warsaw. She holds a PhD from the University of Warsaw (2007) and has been actively contributing to the fields of political culture and propaganda in early modern Poland.

Her research interests include political propaganda, the reign of John III Sobieski, the role of queens in early modern politics, and the intersection of art and politics in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. She specializes in 17th-century political culture, noble democracy, and dynastic strategies.
The recent scholarly articles reflect a consistent focus on political communication, royal propaganda, and the political agency of Queen Marie Casimire. Her work analyzes election campaigns, rhetorical strategies, and the manipulation of concepts like freedom and loyalty. She frequently draws on archival sources, including royal correspondence and political manuscripts, to explore the dynamics of power and influence.

Anna Czarniecka has held significant leadership roles, including Head of the Historical Research Centre at the Royal Castle in Warsaw – Museum (2012–2015) and Deputy Director of the National Institute for Museums and Public Collections (2015–2018). She has managed EU-funded projects such as the "Leonardo da Vinci – Lifelong Learning Programme" and is currently involved in editing the diary of Jan Antoni Chrapowicki. She has advised on major exhibitions and publications related to the Sobieski dynasty and continues to publish critical editions and scholarly analyses.
She is a key member of research teams at the University of Warsaw and the Royal Castle, contributing to interdisciplinary projects that combine historical scholarship with cultural heritage.
