Anna Chęćka-Gotkowicz

Anna Chęćka-Gotkowicz is an Associate Professor at the Department of Aesthetics and Philosophy of Culture within the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Gdańsk. A dual expert in philosophy and piano performance, she integrates theoretical analysis with artistic practice, focusing on music aesthetics, philosophy of art, and metacriticism. Her research explores the interplay between music and other arts, emphasizing the moral and cultural dimensions of musical experience.

Her academic journey includes a PhD in Philosophy (2005) and Habilitation in Philosophy (2014), both from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. She studied piano at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk (1998, with distinction) and postgraduate studies in Paris (1999) under Bernard Ringeissen.
