Anna Christiernsson is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer in Environmental Law at the Department of Law, Stockholm University. Her research focuses on legal frameworks for marine biodiversity protection, fisheries regulation, and ecosystem-based management, often involving cross-border and interdisciplinary challenges.

- Researcher at Uppsala University (2013–2016) and Swedish Institute for the Marine Environment
- Associate Professor at Uppsala University (2016) and Stockholm University (2017–present)
Her research spans marine spatial planning, adaptive management, environmental quality standards, and conflicts between climate transition and cultural heritage. Recent projects include FORCE (marine recovery in climate change) and REKO (energy use and heritage preservation).
Anna supervises PhD students Edith Lalander Malmsten, Rebecka Thurfjell, and Emma Flevaud Dufau. She teaches Swedish, EU, and international environmental law, and has developed courses on civil law, transboundary environmental law, and legal methods.
She serves on the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's Scientific Council for Biodiversity (2016–present) and contributes to legislative processes and public seminars, including presentations on herring law and net-zero buildings.
