Anna Chernobai

Anna Chernobai is a Professor of Finance and Academic Director of Pedagogical Innovation at the M.J. Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University. Her research focuses on operational risk, default risk, stochastic processes, and applied statistics/probability. She has published in journals such as the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and authored the book Operational Risk: A Guide to Basel II Capital Requirements, Models, and Analysis (Wiley Finance, 2007).

• Education: Ph.D. in Statistics and Applied Probability from UC Santa Barbara.

Her work includes collaborations with JP Morgan Chase and recognition in both academia and industry, including the FDIC Research Fellowship (2008) and being named one of the “Top 50 Faces of Operational Risk” (2009). Teaching awards include the Meredith Teaching Recognition Award (2010) and Guttag Junior Faculty Award (2012).
