Anna Berezowska

Anna Berezowska is a doctoral researcher at the Taube Department of Jewish Studies, University of Wrocław, specializing in Jewish ritual spaces, gender studies, and cultural heritage preservation. She earned dual Master’s degrees in Art History (2018) and Archaeology (2019), along with a Master’s in Jewish Culture and Languages from the University of Wrocław, and completed a One-Year Program at Paideia – the European Institute for Jewish Studies in Sweden.

Her research focuses on the evolution of Mikvah (Jewish ritual baths) as female ritual spaces in Polish and German lands (1870-1939), combining gender methodology, architectural studies, and cultural history. Her work intersects with the revitalization of Jewish heritage and historical preservation. She has contributed to a published article in Poszukiwamy Horyzonty part XXII (2020) on synagogue revitalization post-1989.

Anna has received the international Leo Baeck Fellowship Program (2023-2024) and conducted research at Bar-Ilan University (2022-2023) through the Sandwich Doctoral Scholarship. Her conference participation includes presentations at the National Scientific Conference 'Women and Everyday Life' (2023), the 18th Paideia Alumni Conference (2023), and the 27th International Conference on Jewish Studies in Moscow (2021).
