Anna Barnett is Professor of Psychology at Oxford Brookes University. Her research examines motor control/coordination development in children and young adults, focusing on Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) and writing skill acquisition (handwriting/typing). She developed standardized assessment tools including Movement ABC-2 and DASH tests used globally.
Research integrates practical applications like the 'Learn to Ride a Bike' program for children with motor difficulties and investigations into genetic factors influencing coordination. Her work impacts educational policies and clinical practices for handwriting support.
