Anna Aboud, Ph.D., is a faculty member at Westmont College with expertise in computational harmonic analysis, data science, and mathematics education. She earned her undergraduate degree in Mathematics and German from Wheaton College, followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching with emphases in Mathematics, German, and English. After teaching secondary school in Alaska and working as an adjunct professor at the University of Alaska Anchorage, she completed her Ph.D. in mathematics at Iowa State University.
Her research focuses on developing efficient algorithms for solving large linear systems, bridging computational harmonic analysis and data science. She also contributes to mathematics education by exploring active learning strategies and designing calculus curricula. Her recent publications include work on graph-directed constructions of nonlocal energies and advancements in Kaczmarz algorithms in Banach and Hilbert spaces.
Dr. Aboud is committed to fostering creative and critical thinking in her students while maintaining active involvement in interdisciplinary scholarship. Outside academia, she is a member of the Santa Barbara Choral Society and enjoys running, yoga, and outdoor activities with her husband and two huskies.
