معرفی
Ann Sheehy is a Professor in the Department of Biology at the College of the Holy Cross. Her research focuses on the interplay between the human protein APOBEC3G and the HIV viral protein Vif, with a particular emphasis on understanding how manipulating APOBEC3G could enhance anti-HIV activity. She holds a Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
Her research interests include immunology, virology, and molecular mechanisms underlying HIV resistance. Key projects involve identifying regulatory regions of the APOBEC3G gene and investigating how cellular proteins control its expression and function.
Publications highlight her contributions to understanding APOBEC3G's role in innate immunity, antiviral strategies, and HIV pathogenesis. Notable works include studies on Vif-APOBEC3G interactions and the development of inhibitors targeting HIV's Vif protein.
