Ann Schreihofer

Dr. Ann Schreihofer is a Professor in the Department of Physiology & Anatomy at the University of North Texas Health Science Center's College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences. She leads research on neural control of blood pressure in conditions like obesity and sleep apnea, aiming to optimize cardiovascular treatments.

Education includes:

• PhD in Neuroscience from University of Pittsburgh

Her laboratory investigates how obesity and sleep apnea alter brain-mediated blood pressure control, focusing on medulla mechanisms and sympathetic baroreflex pathways. Research utilizes models like obese Zucker rats to identify therapeutic targets.

Publications focus on autonomic regulation, with recent work examining: neural coding in ventrolateral medulla, baroreflex impairment in metabolic disorders, and glutamatergic inputs to cardiovascular centers.
