Ann Schoenecker is a Professor and Chair of the Music Department at Viterbo University, where she has served for 12 years. Her expertise spans vocal performance, pedagogy, and commercial voice training, guiding students across classical, pop, rock, and musical theatre genres. She previously taught at institutions including the Performing Arts Studios in Vienna, Austria, Luther College, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Missouri.
- Education: B.A. from Luther College, M.A. from University of Missouri-Columbia, Ph.D. in Vocal Performance (University of Minnesota, advised by Lawrence Weller and Clifton Ware).
Her research focuses on empowering students to discover their authentic artistic voice through interdisciplinary approaches. She is celebrated for her mentorship, exemplified by testimonials like that of Faith Bartelt ’21, who praises her as a transformative mentor and advocate.
