Dr. Ann Nevile is an Honorary Associate Professor at The Australian National University (ANU), affiliated with POLIS: The Centre for Social Policy Research. Her work focuses on policy implementation challenges, third-sector governance, and disability employment frameworks. She holds a BA in Asian Studies (Hons), M.Pub.Pol., and PhD from ANU.
Her research examines the impact of funding mechanisms on service delivery, particularly in disability employment contexts, and explores how marginalized communities' values inform policy. She has led two ARC Linkage projects and published widely on institutional layering in policy change, accountability mechanisms, and evidence-based decision-making. Dr. Nevile also contributes to public discourse through her SciPod audiobook on policymakers' evidence needs.
Key projects include evaluations of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Integrated Carer Support Service, alongside analyses of employment service performance metrics. She emphasizes the interplay between political values and policy outcomes in complex welfare systems.
Her academic contributions span 39 peer-reviewed outputs, with notable works on institutional legacies in policy transformation and trust-control dynamics in service provision. She actively supervises research students and collaborates with government agencies on evidence-informed policy design.
