Ann Marshall, AIA, LEED AP, is a Lecturer and Graduate Program Director at the University of Massachusetts, leading the UMass Summer Design Academy. She holds degrees from Auburn University (B.A. Interior Design) and Harvard Graduate School of Design (M.Arch I). As a registered architect and co-founder of Design Division Inc., she specializes in architecture and exhibition design. Her work includes cultural projects like the Machu Picchu exhibit for Yale, Catawba Nation’s 7-Feathers Museum, and the Choctaw Cultural Center. She also focuses on community-focused projects such as the Historic Northampton Shepherd Barn and the David Ruggles Center masterplan.
Her research emphasizes human-centered design, sustainable practices (including LEED Platinum projects), and innovative strategies for aging-in-place. Teaching roles span Design I–IV courses at the undergraduate level, integrating professional experience with academic rigor.
